Why We Exist
Every week, families across America bring home French Bulldog puppies from breeders they found online. Some of those families get exactly what they hoped for—a healthy, well-socialized companion from a breeder who stays in touch for years. Others end up with veterinary bills in the thousands, unanswered emails, and heartbreak that could have been prevented.
We started IHeartFrenchies because the gap between those two experiences is too wide, and families deserve better information before they choose a breeder.
What We're Building
Our mission is straightforward: become the most trusted French Bulldog marketplace in the United States by connecting educated families with ethical breeders and supporting both long after the puppy goes home.
We're building something different from the puppy listing sites that came before us. This isn't a pay-to-play directory where anyone with a litter and a credit card gets the same visibility. We verify breeders against health-testing standards, review their contracts and guarantees, and tier them based on transparency and commitment to the breed. When a family searches for Frenchie breeders in Texas or Oklahoma, they see clear differences between a New breeder just joining our community and an Elite or Hall of Fame breeder with years of documented health results.
Our Three-Part Vision
For Families We believe puppy buyers shouldn't need a genetics degree to make an informed decision. Our education library explains what OFA cardiac clearances actually measure, why patella evaluations matter for a brachycephalic breed prone to mobility issues, and how CERF eye exams and BOAS screening protect against preventable conditions. We translate breeder terminology, break down DNA color panel results, and help families in New Mexico or anywhere else ask the right questions before putting down a deposit.
For Breeders Ethical breeders invest thousands of dollars per litter in health testing, prenatal care, early neurological stimulation, and socialization. Then they compete for attention against backyard breeders who do none of that but rank higher in search results. We built our tiered system—from Trusted and Verified through Health Certified, Elite, and Hall of Fame—to reward breeders who do this work properly. Breeders who submit OFA documentation, maintain transparent wait lists, and offer meaningful health guarantees earn visibility that reflects their commitment.
For the Community A responsible placement doesn't end at eight weeks. We're creating spaces where families can ask questions six months later when their Frenchie develops food sensitivities, where breeders across different states share what's working in their whelping protocols, and where the collective knowledge of people who genuinely care about this breed is accessible year-round. Our forums, regional breeder spotlights, and ongoing educational content exist because French Bulldog ownership is a long-term relationship, not a transaction.
How We Measure Success
We'll know we're succeeding when fewer families end up in Facebook groups asking why their four-month-old puppy needs spine surgery, when more breeders can sustain their programs without cutting corners, and when "I found them on IHeartFrenchies" becomes shorthand for "I did my homework and chose carefully."
This is careful work, and we're still building. But we're committed to getting it right.
